"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe" Quote by Gustave Flaubert. Yes, the way we write describes reader about your belief, Quality of Thoughts. Each letter you type in today's electronic platforms like Email, SMS, Post in Social media reveals whom you are to the public.

Today’s information overload world, no one is interested in reading lengthy, badly -structured written content. Each sentence you write govern the respect people have for you, Influence with others and people attract towards you. Writing skill plays an important role in your personal and professional relationship.

The better your writing skills are the better the impression you will make on the people who read your write up in any form.

If you are really care about the way you are viewed and need to build a positive brand for yourself, it is important to develop / improve your written communication skills.

Important guidelines for any message you compose are as follows

1. Write Short Sentences - Express your views by short sentences. Readers feel easy to understand the short ones. In case it extends more than a line, break it into two.

2. Write Short Paragraphs - Limit your paragraphs with three to four lines. When lines exceed the limit check for possibility of dividing.

3. Use Capital letters appropriate – Use Capitalize letters for Names, Places, First letter of each sentence.

4. Be Concise – Write your context with fewest numbers of word usage possible rather than writing with junk of words.

5. Be clear – Write every message with the thought that the content you communicate can be understood easily. No one will have interest to read more than once to find out what the writer trying to say.

6. Use People’s Names- People feel valued when you speak their names during conversation. Same way people aware the message is for them when you use their name while writing. Personal touch is more while using readers name.

7. Complete response – When you reply to a message or query through writing, you need to provide complete response to all sections. Ensure that you address each subjects or questions asked. Incomplete response give impression that you overlooked the content. People may resend the same content to get your complete response.

8. Differentiate multiple topics – When you compose content with multiple topics which may be related or non-related, always differentiate each one. Never mix everything together in single paragraph which will confuse the reader.

9. Editing of Content & Proof reading – Post composing of content, improve draft by correcting errors, making the words, sentences more clearer, more precise and more effective. Time spent on editing & proof reading is always worth for your brand building.

10. Know when to call – When there is potential misunderstanding situation, never send message in emotional mood. Make a call, sort the issue. It will prevent you from regret.

11.Think yourself from reader shoe – Before hitting Send, Submit or comment button read your write up from readers point of view. This helps to reword or even rewrite your content which may avoid potential misunderstanding case.

12. Accept & correct mistakes – Its usual to make typo error or mistakes in content you write. Accept your mistakes and correct it in right way. It may be even a small spelling error, but the correction is worth for your writing brand.

Emails – Highlight the mistake with correct data and resend it

SMS – Correct & include by using symbols or resend it with correct content

13. Use Friendly tone – Many readers have skill to understand the tone of writer as they are aggravated, overly firm or offended. Always communicate through friendly tone, it will make you more attractive and more receptive.

14. Improve your Language proficiency – Expand your vocabulary, Master spelling, Read Regularly, improve your grammar and practice writing regularly. This will help you to compose your content in the way you take pride about your writing skills.

15. Have a Composition Style – Always know your audience and have format for them. Being Known for whom you are writing, what you are writing it will be easier to set style for it. Always concentrate on the main theme of your write up. Use Simple language.
